Dr. Mohiba Tareen is a nationally acclaimed board certified dermatologist and is an Adjunct Clinical Assistant Professor of Dermatology at the University of Minnesota and a Clinical Assistant Professor of Dermatology at Columbia University. Tareen Dermatology serves the entire St. Paul and Minneapolis area.
Dr Tareen is a magna cum laude graduate of the University of Michigan, where she was a member of the Phi Beta Kappa honor society. She earned her medical degree at the University of Michigan and was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. She was awarded two prestigious scholarships while in medical school: The Glasgow-Rubin award to the top 5 female graduates and the MAPI award for the number one academic student of Indian descent.
Dr. Tareen completed her dermatology residency at Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center in New York, New York. During this time, she also lectured extensively and had her work published in a number of prestigious medical journals, including The New England Journal of Medicine. In addition, she was awarded the Conrad Stritzler Award of the New York Dermatological Society while a second year resident.
Dr Tareen completed a prestigious Procedural Dermatology Fellowship where she specialized in advanced laser, surgery, and cosmetic dermatology. She subsequently practiced medical and cosmetic dermatology in Manhattan. She is the expert dermatologist for WebMD.
Dr Tareen has a sincere belief in giving back to the community. She was awarded the United Way Youth Volunteer of the year while in high school. In college and medical school, she spent considerable time at homeless shelters, low cost clinics, and on medical mission trips to India. In New York City and Minneapolis/St. Paul, Dr Tareen has volunteered her time seeing numerous dermatology patients without insurance.
Tareen Dermatology regularly gives back to the Minneapolis/ St Paul community. Dr Tareen and her staff contribute both time and money to numerous local charities.
Dr Tareen is blessed with four sons. Her husband, Basir Tareen MD, is a urologist with Metro Urology in Woodbury.
