Protecting Those Who Protect Us

Research shows that firefighters are at an increased risk for skin cancer, particularly melanoma, due to their exposure to carcinogenic substances and UV radiation. We recently conducted free skin cancer screenings for the Brooklyn Center Fire Department to address this concerning research. This initiative is part of our broader commitment to supporting these courageous professionals, and we plan to extend these screenings to additional fire departments in the future.

Our screenings highlighted an important fact: firefighters face a 21% greater risk of melanoma, the most deadly form of skin cancer, due to their unique work environment. To mitigate these risks, we encourage all firefighters to get regular skin examinations, use sunscreen consistently, and adhere strictly to decontamination protocols.

In addition to providing screenings, we are pleased to announce that 100% of our no-show fees will be donated to support various Minnesota fire and police departments. This effort reflects our dedication to improving skin safety for first responders and raising awareness about the risks associated with their vital work.
