At Tareen Dermatology, we offer in-house dermatopathology and histology services for all of our clinics across Minnesota and Western Wisconsin. What Is Dermatopathology?
Dermatopathology is the microscopic evaluation of skin tissue to diagnose conditions such as skin cancer, inflammatory rashes, infections, and other complex skin disorders. Having this expertise in-house allows our providers to collaborate closely with our laboratory team—reducing delays and improving continuity of care.

Expert Leadership & Team
Our laboratory is led by Dr. Andrew Virata, Laboratory Medical Director and former Mayo Clinic Health System Laboratory Medical Director and Assistant Professor of Dermatology and Laboratory Medicine & Pathology. His leadership brings nationally recognized expertise and oversight to every case.
Dr. Virata is joined by a growing team of seven board-certified dermatopathologists. Together, this team ensures consistent, high-quality interpretation of skin biopsies for our patients.
